Technology Planning

Technology Planning Update

It is imperative that all Technology Plans that are due to expire are written, peer reviewed and approved on or before their expiration date.  Major funding, including E-Rate, and the NCLB formula grants, as well as any other grant funds that may become available are contingent on the provision that a Districts’ Technology Plan is current and has been reviewed and approved through the Illinois State Board of Education peer review process.  It is important to begin planning now. If approval dates lapse, even for a brief period, districts risk losing these funds - or risk being required to reimburse those funds to the funding source.

The Learning Technology Center 1-S is offering assistance and support to all school districts through a series of training and technical assistance sessions. Attending all sessions is critical to writing a successful Technology Plan. Register for the sessions at www.pdaonline.org by clicking on Register Now or by calling 815-744-8337.

Technology Planning Assistance Session dates:

  • October 14, 2011
  • November 30, 2011
  • January 19, 2012

Tech Plans will be due on February 28th, 2012.

If you are unsure of your Technology Plan’s expiration date please call 815-744-8334 and ask for Patti Furlano or email .
